Volunteers Are Vital

We always need volunteers in our Habitat for Humanity of Berks County ReStore, located just outside Reading in Temple, PA. The store sells high quality used furniture and other home goods.

Volunteers are vital to the mission of the ReStore, helping us to keep prices low and providing consistent operations across our entire organization. Volunteering at the Habitat ReStore allows you to have fun and make a difference while giving you the flexibility to choose your own schedule. You can work as little as three hours a month or as much as several times a week. Volunteer by yourself or come with a group of friends and coworkers. We can accommodate groups of up to 30 people for at least a four-hour shift.

The Work

Volunteer staff helps unload the donation truck, prepare items for the sales floor (cleaning, pricing, tagging), create displays and help customers.

While no building or construction experience is necessary, a friendly personality and commitment to rebuild our community is.

All volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Wear closed-toe shoes and be prepared to lift at least 25 pounds.

Volunteer hours are available seven days a week in the ReStore. Shifts are Mondays and Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesdays through Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 6 p.m.
